lunch talk

decided to have a stay-in lunch with myself. it does wonders for me when i quieten down and have some time with myself -- things sort of sink into a slow-mo when i'm doing this, and i can listen to what my inner diva wants to say. there's no expectations to live up to, no need for small-talk, no pressure. it's just me -- chilling my brain out.

i wonder if people(or even myself) ever get tired of each other, even if they're just friends. i do -- with people who continually enforce their opinions and methodology of life on me and expects the world of me. People who measures you according to their ruler of life. People who need all the space and freedom for self-expression for themselves and dictate yours at the same time. Do parallels of life and social communication really exist?

i can't help but think out loud:
mabbe partners live in peace with one another because they are mutually pinned down by hopes and expections(think invisible jail bars)of each other? In which case, when this equilibrium topples, the situation gives birth to partners we call "hen-pecked"? arrggghh

current music: noise of contruction and renovation outside and upstairs
current mood: not great
current food: packed bento box of beef shogayaki (coffeeshop along my street)
current curiousity: are the new tenants upstairs building a Taj Mahal?
current desktop decoration: white flakes of dust from the reno upstairs
current dream: get my hands on a stash of cash, change my name and run away to New York
current irritation: my cracked windscreen, the incessant dripping from my neighbour's aircon, my spate of bad-luck recently

"I can't help but wonder..."

You sound like Carrie Bradshaw, honey!

Speaking of which, I definitely support your dream of running away to New York. I want to do the same! Like work in a little cafe and part-time at Barnes & Noble!! But of course that does mean that you can't live in luxury, hohoho. just teasing.
